Informational Site Design

Fundwell.com is an online provider of the CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) certificate, and was in need of an overhaul of their 10+ year old front-end presence.
The client wanted their logo prominently featured on the home page and also wanted to use only those colors in the design of the site.  The logo had to be [...]

Idea Studio

A small knitting store in the Chicago suburbs was in need of a site redesign.  I am a fan of do-it-yourself projects, but it breaks my heart when places I shop have bad websites.
I created this site to appeal to the wide variety of clientele that frequent a yarn shop – everyone from teenagers and [...]

Alphabet

Alphabet

The premise was to change the structure of letters without losing their identity.  There are 20 versions of each letter all based on Helvetica Bold.
My favorites from each of the pages are being transformed into an alphabet book for my young cousins.  Check back in a month or so to see the update.

Completed – Baumwolle

Completed – Baumwolle

Ok, it was completed mid-December, but with being laid-off due to budget cuts, finals and the holidays, I hadn’t gotten around to posting the finish product.

You can see the finished design here.
It was a pleasure to work on, and it did turn out as planned.  Although, I would have liked to have the time to [...]

Giving Thanks

This year I have more to be thankful for than usual.  This year it was a possibility not only that I wouldn’t be here, but also that one of my cousins wouldn’t be here.  There was a possibility that I wouldn’t be able to walk.  But, I am here.  She is here.  I can walk.  [...]

fixing the ugly

fixing the ugly

So, it is Halloween.  And I am not out celebrating, instead I stayed home to pass out Halloween candy and catch up on some designing.  (I have some changes to make to my last few class projects & then I am going to get some jewelery made for my web design project)
I decided I needed [...]

Real World: Chi-town.

Real World: Chi-town.

So this is life.  A full time job that has no relevance to who I am or where I want to be (other than the miniscule amount of French I use once a week), a half-time course load that keeps me out of the house til 10:30 four nights a week and a complete lack [...]

Knitting & a quest.

I am a nerd, I admit it.  The first analysis I read of the last debate was one on word counts and a comparison of the styles of speaking of the candidates based purely on their choices of words.  It was way more interesting than the rest of the political commentary that was out there.  [...]

YarnCon 2008

YarnCon 2008

I went to YarnCon.  And it was fantastic, except for the atm eating my cousin’s debit card and me dropping $28 worth of yarn somewhere.  But overall, it was pretty fantastic.
I bought a wee bit of yarn.  A bit of banana silk…

and a bit of merino…

I was looking for alternative fibers, but it seemed to [...]

Progress is being made.

Progress is being made.

So far, so good, I think.  You can see the evolution of my design below.
The logo thumbnails:

The rough logos: (I am debating between connected script below and the disconnected script in the similar logo above).  Also, in Illustrator I will play with having a pink fillagree fill in the cotton puff because my marker mafe [...]

I’m sick and it is nice out.

That kinda bites.
At least I got a few more sketches for my web design class done today.  Which is exciting, especially because I slept til 2.
I have to redesign the Fry’s logo for a class project, and I have no idea where to start.  I have never been in the store, and was hoping to [...]

Latoya Washington

Latoya Washington

Here is a proposed design I created for a portfolio site for a make up artist I met while getting my make-up done at a Nordstom’s/ MAC event.
While the site is not yet active as she does not yet have a domain (as of this posting), here are the page comps for a simple, clean [...]
