This is a second concept for the Volvo Overseas delivery program, this one targeting a decidedly different audience. This ad focuses solely on the feelings and only suggests the car. It is done in a rich chocolate brown to highlight the luxury of the product.

The ad was created in Illustrator CS3.

Golf Outing Invite

The COD PCMA is having a golf outing to benefit Leukima and Lymphoma society on behalf of a member of their national organization.

The goal was to create a clean invitation while still managing to fit all of the required information into the tri-fold brochure. The format was chosen by the organization, and provided a challenge for getting all the information included.

The logo is echoed by a watermarked golpher on the invite, which also helps to pull your eye through the blocks of text.

Created in Illustrator CS4.

Poster/Brochure

The goal of this project was to create a poster that doubled as a flyer, or a flyer that doubled as a poster to advertise the final design event of theto year, Portfolio Night.

I was the Art Director on the project and was responsible for the logo design. I also photographed the people and laid out the poster side of the printed piece.

This was created in Illustrator and Photoshop CS4.

Business Greeting Cards

The client, a Juice Plus sales representative was looking for a series of greeting cards which she could send out to her clients for each of the seasons. She did not want the cards to reflect a specific holiday, as those are provided by the company.

The concept was to pick different words and spell them out using the fruits and vegetables that are in the product so that the client wouldn’t be “stuck” with any particular card for the season, but could use the card that she felt most appropriate sending.

Europe comes Standard

This was a print advertisement created for Volvo’s overseas delivery program. The aim of the project was to convey an experience and not just that of purchasing a car.

A modern approach lets this ad speak to more than just baby boomers (who are typical volvo owners) and lets the car find a wider audience. (This was designed before Edward Cullen became a famous Volvo owner).

Ad was created with Photoshop and InDesign CS3.

What is therapy?

The aim of this printed piece was to define therapy and the differences between psychology and psychiatry for both patients and those considering therapy as well as family members.

The client wanted to emphasize that the process was different for everyone and the end goal was to go back to (or for the first time) feeling whole or not broken. I decided to illustrate this with a person missing a puzzle piece.

This illustration was also the basis for the logo and business card for the practice.

Bright colors make the brochure inviting and a simple design does not overwhelm the reader.

We Fuel Life

I created three different print ads for a rebranding and public awareness campaign for Exxon Mobile. The company, famous for environmental mishaps, and a purveyor of fossil fuels which are villified in the media was in need of a campaign that highlighted the alternative fuel research that it funds.

This campaign was created using Illustrator, Photoshp and InDesignCS3.

It was a finalist in the 2009 Portfolio Night (Graphic Design Category) at College of DuPage.

Alphabet

The premise was to change the structure of letters without losing their identity. There are 20 versions of each letter all based on Helvetica Bold.

My favorites from each of the pages are being transformed into an alphabet book for my young cousins. Check back in a month or so to see the update.

So, it is Halloween. And I am not out celebrating, instead I stayed home to pass out Halloween candy and catch up on some designing. (I have some changes to make to my last few class projects & then I am going to get some jewelery made for my web design project)

I decided I needed to redesign the website for one of the knitting shops I go to (admittedly it is not my favorite, but it is the closest to my house and they have by far the ugliest website).

The assignment for this image was to create a collage that made a political or social statement. The piece is about sacrifice and all that could be…on the other side of the fence.
